Riding Lessons

Burnt Ash Farm offers a relaxed, friendly environment for children to learn to ride & gain confidence in handling ponies. We specialise in training children, however we occasionally provide horses for adults to ride in the school.

Jeanne teaches most of the lessons, she is a BHS AI registered instructor & a level 2 coach with over 15 years experience teaching & a lifetime of owning her own horses.

We have had many children pass through the yard to eventually own their own pony or be fortunate enough to have a pony on loan to them & stable it here or elsewhere. Much of the tuition is on a one to one basis, meaning the young riders generally learn a lot faster until they are competent enough to ride without too much instruction, just under close supervision. 

We encourage as many youngsters as possible to join the local branch of the pony club & take the pony club tests. We are lucky enough to have many of the local pony club activities taking place within walking distance of the stables, some of which, including pony club camp is as close as just across the road.   

We also encourage our adults to become members of The British Horse Society, a few of which aim to train to take riding & teaching exams in the future
